The Harker Playlist

The Harkers Playlist project originated from a shared passion for distinctive and stylistically appealing music among a close-knit group of university colleagues. Our regular exchanges, brimming with unique musical discoveries, sparked a playful yet intriguing conversation one Sunday about the prospect of creating our own music player. This idea, initially a whimsical concept, quickly gained traction as I became enthused by the challenge of leveraging cutting-edge web technologies to bring this vision to life.

In the preliminary stages, I embarked on a comprehensive exploration of design and functionality elements, drawing inspiration from industry-leading music players like Vox Player (for Mac) and Spotify, the latter of which I have been an avid and satisfied Premium member for years. These influences, coupled with a deep dive into current design trends and user experience strategies, laid the groundwork for the initial sketches and conceptual development of our bespoke music player.
